Thinking About Leaving Corporate and Starting Your Own Business?

Leaving the corporate world is SCARY. Trust me, about building a solid career in a few massive corporate companies, the thought out jumping out on my own was TERRIFYING.

Here’s a little tiny piece of advice for you…

There is a quote that goes something like “you learn and grow from mistakes, not from perfection.”

My advice for those starting your own business is to be prepared to make mistakes

You want to make mistakes early so you can learn from them.   Be prepared to adjust your lifestyle financially.

Any revenue you generate while building your company, put it back into the business.

Be patient with yourself and others who are supporting your venture.  Success doesn’t happen overnight.

“You’re going to go through a time where you’re not going to make money. It’s not going to be a week, it’s not going to be a month, it’s not going to be one year. It’s going to be years. And during that time, if you don’t love what you do, it’s going to be very hard to stick it out. That is something that people don’t understand when they hear,“Follow your passion.”

They hear rainbows and unicorns. But the truth of it is that it’s important because if you don’t enjoy or have a passion for what you’re doing, you’re going to be that much more likely to quit when it gets hard.” – Gary Vaynerchuk
